बाणाभिघातात्‌ संजज्ञे तत्र भारत पावक:

bāṇābhighātāt sañjajñe tatra bhārata pāvakaḥ

Sañjaya said: O Bhārata, there, from the impact of the arrows, a blazing fire sprang up. In the moral atmosphere of war, even weapons meant for victory become causes of wider destruction, showing how violence can spill beyond its intended target and consume the innocent along with the guilty.
