यामासाद्य दुराधर्ष: सर्वलोके श्रुतायुध: । ऐसा कहकर वरुणदेवने श्रुतायुधको मन्त्रोपदेशपूर्वक वह गदा प्रदान की, जिसे पाकर वे सम्पूर्ण जगत्‌में दुर्जय वीर माने जाते थे

Transliteration

yām āsādya durādharṣaḥ sarvaloke śrutāyudhaḥ |

Translation

Sañjaya said: Having obtained it, Śrutāyudha became irresistible—indeed, throughout the whole world he was famed as unconquerable. Thus spoke Varuṇa, and, after imparting sacred instruction in mantras, he bestowed that mace upon Śrutāyudha; with it in hand, he was reckoned a warrior hard to defeat in all the world.
