द्रोणस्तु पञचभिर्बाणैर्वासुदेवमताडयत्‌ । अर्जुन च त्रिसप्तत्या ध्वजं चास्य त्रिभि: शरै:,फिर द्रोणने भी पाँच बाणोंसे भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्णको, तिहत्तर बाणोंसे अर्जुनको और तीन बाणोंद्वारा उनके ध्वजको भी चोट पहुँचायी

Transliteration

droṇas tu pañcabhir bāṇair vāsudevam atāḍayat | arjunaṃ ca trisaptatyā dhvajaṃ cāsya tribhiḥ śaraiḥ ||

Translation

Sañjaya said: Droṇa struck Vāsudeva (Śrī Kṛṣṇa) with five arrows; he also struck Arjuna with seventy-three, and with three shafts he wounded Arjuna’s banner as well. The narration underscores the relentless precision of war, where even the charioteer and the warrior’s emblem are targeted to shake resolve and morale.
