Sātyaki Pressed by Kauravas; Duryodhana and Kṛtavarmā Engagements

ह्रादेन गजघण्टानां शड्खानां निनदेन च । ज्याक्षेपनिनदैश्वैव विरावेण च दन्तिनाम्‌,हाथियोंके घंटोंकी ध्वनि, शंखनाद, धनुषकी टंकार और गजराजोंके चिग्घाड़नेके शब्दसे पृथ्वी, दिशाएँ तथा आकाश--ये सभी गूँज उठे थे। उस समय दुःशासन दो घड़ीके लिये अत्यन्त भयंकर एवं दारुण हो उठा

With the clangor of elephants’ bells, the blare of conches, the twang of bowstrings as they were drawn, and the roaring of the great tuskers, the earth, the quarters, and the very sky resounded. In that moment Duḥśāsana grew exceedingly dreadful and fierce, as though the war’s terror had taken form in him.
