द्रोणपर्व — अध्याय ८७: सात्यकेरनुयात्रा
Sātyaki’s resolve and departure to reach Arjuna
तेषां विदुरवाक्यानामुक्तानां दीर्घदर्शनात्,विदुरने भविष्यमें होनेवाली दूरतककी घटनाओंको ध्यानमें रखकर जो बातें कही थीं, उन्हींके अनुसार इस समय हमें यह फल मिल रहा है। इसे देखकर मैं यह समझता हूँ कि मेरे पुत्र सात्यकि और अर्जुनके द्वारा अपनी सेनाका संहार देखते हुए शोक कर रहे होंगे
teṣāṁ vidura-vākyānām uktānāṁ dīrgha-darśinā | vidureṇa bhaviṣyā me bhaviṣyanti dūra-takā ghaṭanāḥ iti yat proktaṁ tad-anusāreṇaivāyaṁ phala-prāptiḥ | etad dṛṣṭvāhaṁ manye mama putrāḥ sātyaki-arjunābhyāṁ sva-senā-saṁhāraṁ paśyantaḥ śokaṁ kariṣyanti ||
Dhṛtarāṣṭra said: “The words spoken by far-seeing Vidura—spoken with future consequences in view—are now bearing fruit for us exactly as he foretold. Seeing this, I conclude that my sons, watching the destruction of their own army at the hands of Sātyaki and Arjuna, must be grieving.”
