Sañjaya said: Then the mighty-armed son of Indra (Arjuna) spoke to Kṛṣṇa: “Console your sister Subhadrā together with her daughter-in-law. With calm, truthful, and well-reasoned words, remove the grief of Uttarā and her companions.”

The verse teaches a dharmic way of meeting suffering: offer reassurance through calmness, truth, and reasoned speech, and take responsibility for comforting those overwhelmed by grief—even in the midst of war.
Arjuna addresses Kṛṣṇa and asks him to console Subhadrā and the daughter-in-law (Uttarā), and to dispel the sorrow of Uttarā and her companions, indicating a moment of mourning and the need for compassionate guidance.
