Duryodhana’s Armor and the Tactical Reassessment

Whatever Pārtha (Arjuna) has vowed will be fulfilled exactly so, and not otherwise; it cannot be reversed. For what your lord intends to accomplish never becomes fruitless—his resolve inevitably bears its intended result.

Educational Q&A

A righteous hero’s solemn vow (pratijñā) is presented as irrevocable and efficacious: once undertaken, it must be carried through to completion. The verse also stresses confidence in a leader’s purposeful resolve—true intention, aligned with capability and dharma, does not end in futility.

Vāyudeva reassures the addressed listener that Arjuna’s declared vow will certainly be accomplished exactly as stated. He further affirms that the listener’s lord’s intended undertaking will not fail, offering divine encouragement amid the pressures of the war narrative.
