Droṇānīka-praveśa: Arjuna’s respectful appeal to Droṇa and renewed advance toward Jayadratha (द्रोणानीकप्रवेशः)
तथा भविष्यतीत्युक्त्वा तत्रैवान्तरधीयत । गयो ह्ाावाप्य तत् सर्व धर्मेणारीनजीजयत्,'ऐसा ही होगा” यों कहकर अग्निदेव वहीं अन्तर्धान हो गये। राजा गयने वह सब कुछ पाकर धर्मसे ही शत्रुओंपर विजय पायी
tathā bhaviṣyatīty uktvā tatraivāntardadhīyata | gayo hi prāpya tat sarvaṁ dharmeṇārīn ajījayat ||
Saying, “So it shall be,” the divine one vanished on the very spot. King Gaya, having obtained all that, went on to conquer his enemies by the path of dharma—through righteous conduct rather than unrighteous means.
नारद उवाच
Even when aided by divine assurance or gifts, true and lasting victory is portrayed as arising from dharma—ethical, lawful conduct—rather than from deceit or adharma.
After affirming that events will unfold as stated (“So it shall be”), Agni vanishes. King Gaya then receives what was promised and proceeds to defeat his enemies through righteous means.
