युधिष्ठिरकृष्णसंवादः — Yudhiṣṭhira’s Appeal and Kṛṣṇa’s Assurance
Droṇa-parva, Adhyāya 59
ati sarvāṇi bhūtāni rāmo dāśarathir babhau | ṛṣīṇāṃ devatānāṃ ca mānuṣāṇāṃ ca sarvaśaḥ ||
Nārada said: Rāma, the son of Daśaratha, outshone all beings everywhere—among sages, among the gods, and among humans. The verse presents him as a moral and spiritual exemplar whose inner discipline and excellence make him radiant in every sphere of life.
नारद उवाच
True greatness is measured by inner excellence—virtue, discipline, and radiance of character—so that one becomes worthy of honor across all communities (sages, gods, and humans). The verse frames Rāma as an ethical ideal whose conduct sets a universal standard.
Nārada is praising Rāma by declaring that he surpassed all beings everywhere, whether among ascetics, divine beings, or ordinary humans. The statement functions as a laudatory comparison to highlight Rāma’s exceptional stature.
