Narada said: “He enjoyed and governed this earth after making it free from mlecchas and forest-bandits. For him, because of his righteous conduct and worship of the gods—and because he overcame enemies by his arrows while delighting all beings through his virtues—Parjanya (the rain-god) rained down gold for many years.”
नारद उवाच
The verse links righteous governance and protection of society with cosmic harmony: when a ruler upholds dharma, restrains lawlessness, and honors the gods, nature and the divine order respond with abundance—symbolized by Parjanya’s rain of gold.
Narada praises a past ruler/hero by describing his reign: he made the land safe from disruptive groups and banditry, defeated enemies in battle, pleased living beings through good qualities, and as a result received extraordinary divine prosperity—gold raining for years.
