Droṇa-parva Adhyāya 53: Arjuna’s Jayadratha-vadha Pratijñā and Droṇa’s Protective Vyūha
nārada uvāca: śrutvā hi vacanaṃ devaḥ prajānāṃ hitakāraṇe | tejaḥ saṃdhārayāmāsa punar evāntarātmani ||
Nārada said: Having heard that counsel spoken for the welfare of living beings, the divine Brahmā restrained his blazing energy—his rising wrath—and once again held it within his own inner self.
Power (tejas) should be governed by dharma: when an action is weighed against the welfare of beings (prajānāṃ hita), even a god restrains anger and contains it within, modeling self-mastery and responsibility.
Narada narrates that after hearing Mahadeva’s words spoken for the good of creatures, Brahma checks the surge of fiery energy/anger and withdraws it back into his inner self instead of letting it manifest outwardly.
