हृद्यसम्भ्रान्तवद् राज॑स्तदद्भुतमिवा भवत् । तब अर्जुनकुमारने अश्वत्थामाका ध्वज काटकर शल्यको तीन बाण मारे। राजन! शल्यने भी मनमें तनिक भी सम्भ्रम या घबराहटका अनुभव न करते हुए-से गीधके पंखसे युक्त नौ बाणोंद्वारा अभिमन्युको आहत कर दिया। वह एक अद्भुत-सी बात हुई
Translation
O king, it seemed a marvel, as though hearts were thrown into sudden turmoil. Then Arjuna’s son cut down Aśvatthāmā’s banner and struck King Śalya with three arrows. Yet Śalya, showing not the least confusion or fear, wounded Abhimanyu with nine arrows fletched like a vulture’s wings. It was a wondrous sight indeed.
