Adhyāya 40 (Book 7, Droṇa-parva): Abhimanyu’s Rapid Advance and Battlefield Disruption
प्रावादयन्त संहृष्टा: पाण्डूनां तत्र सैनिका: | अपश्यन् स्मयमानाश्न सौभद्रस्य विचेष्टितम्,पाण्डवोंके सैनिक वहाँ हर्षमें भरकर नाना प्रकारके सभी रणवाद्य बजाने लगे और मुसकराते हुए वे सुभद्राकुमारका पराक्रम देखने लगे
prāvādayanta saṁhṛṣṭāḥ pāṇḍūnāṁ tatra sainikāḥ | apaśyan smayamānāś ca saubhadrasya viceṣṭitam ||
Sañjaya said: Thereupon the soldiers of the Pāṇḍavas, filled with exhilaration, began to sound their various war-instruments. Smiling, they watched the deeds and martial prowess of Saubhadra (Abhimanyu), taking heart from his valor amid the grim demands of battle.
संजय उवाच
Even within the harshness of war, collective morale and righteous confidence are sustained by witnessing courageous, disciplined action; the verse highlights how exemplary valor can steady a community and renew resolve.
As Abhimanyu (Saubhadra) performs notable feats in battle, the Pāṇḍava troops, delighted, sound their war-instruments and watch him with smiles, encouraged by his prowess.
