Sañjaya said: Terrified, his followers fled in every direction. O Bhārata, beholding that wondrous heroism of Arjuna’s son, all beings broke into cries of approval and joy on every side—praising valor that protects one’s cause and shames unrighteous aggression.

The verse contrasts cowardly panic with the public recognition of true kṣatriya valor: when courage is displayed in defense of one’s side and duty, it naturally draws collective approval, while those lacking resolve scatter in fear.
Sañjaya reports that the attendants/followers of a warrior (contextually, the opposing side) become terrified and flee in all directions; at the same time, witnessing the extraordinary prowess of Arjuna’s son Abhimanyu, the surrounding beings raise joyful shouts and words of praise.
