सुमहत् पाण्डुपुत्राणामायान्त्येते हि कौरवा: । 'परंतु मैं इस समय क्या कर सकता हूँ। पाण्डवोंका यह दूसरा ही महान् कार्य उपस्थित हो गया। ये कौरव बढ़े चले आ रहे हैं
saumahat pāṇḍuputrāṇām āyānty ete hi kauravāḥ |
Sañjaya said: “A mighty undertaking of the sons of Pāṇḍu is at hand; for behold, the Kauravas are advancing toward them.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical pressure of imminent conflict: when an adversary advances, one’s duty (dharma) demands readiness, clarity, and decisive action, even amid uncertainty.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the Kaurava forces are moving forward, and that the Pāṇḍavas face a major, urgent undertaking as the battle situation intensifies.
