सादिभिश्न हतै: शूरै: संकीर्णा वसुधाभवत्‌ | टूटे पहियेवाले रथों, गिराये हुए विशाल ध्वजों और मारे गये शूरवीर घुड़सवारोंसे वहाँकी भूमि आच्छादित हो गयी थी

Transliteration

sa-ādibhiś ca hataiḥ śūraiḥ saṅkīrṇā vasudhābhavat |

Translation

Sañjaya said: The earth there became choked and strewn with the fallen—covered with the wreckage of war and the bodies of slain heroes. Broken chariots with shattered wheels, great standards cast down, and dead mounted warriors lay scattered across the field.
