Sanjaya said: O King, those warriors, borne and scattered by the wind, appeared splendid—like birds that, at the proper season, take flight from the trees, O venerable one.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights impermanence and the overpowering momentum of events in war: individuals are swept along by forces larger than themselves (here symbolized by the wind), and what looks splendid can still be driven by destruction and inevitability.
Sanjaya describes to the king how the warriors are being lifted and scattered by the wind amid the battlefield, comparing their movement and appearance to birds flying off from trees in the right season.
