द्रोणपर्व — अध्याय १८: संशप्तकगणयुद्धे अर्जुनस्यास्त्रप्रयोगः
Drona Parva, Chapter 18: Arjuna’s astra-deployment against the Saṃśaptakas
उपलभ्य तत: संज्ञामवस्थाप्य च वाहिनीम् । युगपत् पाण्डुपुत्राय चिक्षिपु: कड्कपत्रिण:
upalabhya tataḥ saṃjñām avasthāpya ca vāhinīm | yugapat pāṇḍuputrāya cikṣipuḥ khaḍgapatriṇaḥ ||
Sañjaya said: Regaining their senses and re-forming their battle-array, the sword-bearing warriors at once hurled themselves against the son of Pāṇḍu. Thus is it in war: even after shock and disorder, disciplined ranks recover swiftly and renew the assault, making the field a trial of steadiness, resolve, and the harsh code of combat.

The verse highlights the battlefield virtue of regaining composure and restoring order after disruption. It points to the power of discipline and collective resolve—qualities that can rapidly turn confusion into coordinated action, even in morally fraught circumstances like war.
After a moment of shock or disarray, the warriors recover their awareness, re-form their army formation, and together launch an immediate assault on a Pāṇḍava (the son of Pāṇḍu).
