Sañjaya said: When they had regained their wits, the Saṁsaptakas steadied their host and together began a downpour of feathered arrows upon Arjuna, the son of Pāṇḍu. But mighty Arjuna swiftly cut those thousands of shafts apart before they could reach him, using only fifteen fast-flying arrows. In the crush of battle, it was disciplined mastery, not mere rage—measured force that neutralized harm and shielded his side without loss of composure.

Educational Q&A

Even in war, excellence is shown through restraint and precision: Arjuna neutralizes danger efficiently, illustrating disciplined action (controlled strength) rather than uncontrolled violence.

As a mass of incoming arrows is released against Arjuna, he counters by shooting fifteen swift arrows that cut down the enemy’s thousands mid-flight, stopping them before they can strike him.
