Sañjaya said: “Hold steady, Dhṛṣṭadyumna, and wait for just two ghaṭikās (a short while). Until then, I shall dispatch you with my razor-sharp arrows to Yama’s imperishable realm.”

The verse highlights the battlefield mindset where death is treated as imminent and certain; it reflects the hard, uncompromising resolve of warriors and the ethical tension of dharma under the pressure of war—steadfastness is demanded even as violence is openly vowed.
Sañjaya reports a warrior’s taunt/threat addressed to Dhṛṣṭadyumna: he is told to stand firm and wait briefly, after which the speaker claims he will kill him with sharp arrows, sending him to Yama’s realm.
