Sañjaya said: “So long as I am alive, O son of Gāndhārī, you ought not to go to battle. Do not disregard me, O Kaurava—for I am ever one who seeks your welfare.”
संजय उवाच
Even in the urgency of war, one should heed well-wishing counsel and avoid acting out of pride or disregard; ethical restraint and respect for sincere advisors are presented as safeguards against ruin.
Sañjaya addresses a Kaurava—called ‘son of Gāndhārī’—urging him not to proceed to battle while Sañjaya lives, emphasizing that his warning comes from constant goodwill and should not be dismissed.
