अजिशीर्षे प्रातःसंध्यायां संग्रामवर्णनम् / Dawn-Transition Battle at Ajiśīrṣa
Chapter 161
इत्युक्त्वा प्रययौ राजा सैन्येन महता वृत: । फाल्गुनं प्रति दुर्धर्ष: क्रोधात् संरक्तलोचन:
ity uktvā prayayau rājā sainyena mahatā vṛtaḥ | phālgunaṃ prati durdharṣaḥ krodhāt saṃraktalocanaḥ ||
Having spoken thus, the king set out, surrounded by a vast army. Unassailable, he advanced toward Phālguna (Arjuna), his eyes reddened with wrath.

The verse highlights how anger (krodha) drives even powerful leaders into aggressive action, intensifying violence and narrowing judgment—an ethical warning embedded within the war narrative about the destructive momentum of wrath.
Sañjaya reports that, after making a statement (in the preceding context), the king marches out with a large force and moves directly toward Arjuna (Phālguna), described as formidable and visibly enraged.
