Educational Q&A

This line is a colophon marking the close of a chapter and locating it within the epic’s structure. Its ethical import is indirect: it frames the narrative of war and responsibility (especially around Jayadratha’s death and Droṇa’s role) within an ordered textual tradition, reminding the reader that events are to be understood in their proper context and sequence.

The verse does not advance the plot; it formally concludes a chapter. It identifies the larger book (Mahābhārata), the parva (Droṇa Parva), the sub-parva focused on Jayadratha’s slaying, and labels the chapter as the 151st, associated with Droṇa’s speech/discourse.
