Alāyudha’s Resolve to Confront Bhīma
नान््तं गच्छामि हर्षस्य तितीर्षुरुदधेरिव । अत्यद्भुतमिदं कृष्ण कृतं पार्थेन धीमता,“कमलनयन कृष्ण! जैसे तैरनेकी इच्छावाला पुरुष समुद्रका पार नहीं पाता, उसी प्रकार आपके मुखसे यह प्रिय समाचार सुनकर मेरे हर्षकी सीमा नहीं रह गयी है। बुद्धिमान् अर्जुनने यह अत्यन्त अद्भुत पराक्रम किया है
nāntaṃ gacchāmi harṣasya titīrṣur-udadher iva | atyadbhutam idaṃ kṛṣṇa kṛtaṃ pārthena dhīmatā ||
Sañjaya said: “O Kṛṣṇa, my joy knows no limit—like a man who yearns to cross the ocean and cannot find its far shore. What the wise Pārtha (Arjuna) has accomplished is truly astonishing.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical admiration of extraordinary, disciplined action in a righteous cause: genuine excellence (parākrama) evokes awe, and gratitude/praise is expressed without envy. Sañjaya’s boundless joy also underscores how uplifting dharmic success can be for witnesses who value justice.
Sañjaya, narrating events to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, addresses Kṛṣṇa and declares that his happiness has no boundary upon hearing the pleasing news. He marvels at an astonishing feat accomplished by Arjuna (Pārtha), indicating a significant success on the battlefield.
