Alāyudha’s Resolve to Confront Bhīma
प्रियमेतदुपश्रुत्य त्वत्त: पुष्करलोचन,“कमलनयन कृष्ण! जैसे तैरनेकी इच्छावाला पुरुष समुद्रका पार नहीं पाता, उसी प्रकार आपके मुखसे यह प्रिय समाचार सुनकर मेरे हर्षकी सीमा नहीं रह गयी है। बुद्धिमान् अर्जुनने यह अत्यन्त अद्भुत पराक्रम किया है
priyam etad upaśrutya tvattaḥ puṣkaralocana | kamalanayana kṛṣṇa yathā tairṇe icchāvān puruṣaḥ samudrasya pāraṃ na prāpnoti tathā tava mukhāt idaṃ priyaṃ vārttāṃ śrutvā mama harṣasya sīmā nāsti | buddhimān arjunaḥ etad atyadbhutaṃ parākramaṃ kṛtavān |
Sañjaya said: “O lotus-eyed one—O lotus-eyed Kṛṣṇa! Hearing this pleasing report from you, my joy knows no limit. Just as a man who longs to swim across cannot reach the far shore of the ocean, so too, on hearing this dear news from your own lips, I find no boundary to my exhilaration. The wise Arjuna has performed a truly astonishing feat of valor.”
