Educational Q&A

The verse teaches that taking refuge in Kṛṣṇa—depicted as Arjuna’s loyal friend, active well-wisher, and protector—leads to genuine happiness and flourishing. Ethically, it highlights that well-being arises from aligning oneself with righteous counsel and steadfast guardianship rather than relying only on personal power.

In the Drona Parva’s war narrative, Sañjaya describes Kṛṣṇa’s relationship to Arjuna: intimate friendship, committed support, and protective oversight. The statement functions as a reflective assurance that those who seek Kṛṣṇa’s shelter attain steadiness and happiness even amid the battlefield’s peril.
