ततो विह्वलमान त॑ नि:श्वसन्तं पुन: पुन: । शल्यमभ्यपतत् तूर्ण कृतवर्मा महारथ:,उस समय शल्य अत्यन्त विह्लल होकर बारंबार लम्बी साँस खींच रहे थे। इतनेहीमें महारथी कृतवर्मा तुरंत राजा शल्यके पास आ पहुँचा
tato vihvalamānaṁ taṁ niḥśvasantaṁ punaḥ punaḥ | śalyam abhyapatat tūrṇaṁ kṛtavarmā mahārathaḥ ||
Sañjaya said: Then, seeing Śalya overwhelmed and repeatedly heaving deep breaths, the great chariot-warrior Kṛtavarmā swiftly rushed up to him.
संजय उवाच
Even the strongest warriors can be shaken by the burdens of battle; in such moments, prompt support and steadiness from allies becomes a practical expression of duty (kṣatriya-dharma) and responsibility within a collective cause.
Śalya is described as distressed and repeatedly sighing; at that moment Kṛtavarmā, an eminent warrior, quickly comes up to him—suggesting an urgent response to Śalya’s condition amid the ongoing conflict.
