Sañjaya said: Hundreds and then thousands of blazing, fire-faced arrows—consecrated by mantras connected with divine weapons—began to manifest. “When you find an opening against him, O best of the Kurus, you must strike. Do not hesitate on the thought that the Sun has set.”

Educational Q&A

Act decisively when a legitimate tactical opening arises; do not let changing external conditions (like sunset) become an excuse for hesitation in the performance of one’s warrior-duty.

In Sañjaya’s report of the battle, vast numbers of blazing arrows empowered by divine-weapon mantras appear, and a warrior addressed as “best of the Kurus” is urged to strike the opponent when a vulnerable moment (chidra) presents itself, without delaying because the sun has set.
