प्रसृतांस्तस्य गाण्डीवाच्छरव्रातान् महात्मन: । संग्रामे सम्प्रपश्यामो हंसपड्धक्तिमिवाम्बरे,उन महात्माके गाण्डीव धनुषसे छूटकर संग्राममें फैले हुए बाणसमूहोंको हम आकाशमें हंसोंकी पंक्तिके समान देखते थे

Sañjaya said: In that battle we beheld the volleys of arrows released from the great-souled warrior’s Gāṇḍīva bow spreading out through the sky, like a line of swans across the heavens. The image conveys both awe at martial mastery and the sobering beauty with which war can appear even as it brings destruction.
