Droṇa-parva Adhyāya 125: Duryodhana’s despair and vow after Jayadratha’s fall (जयद्रथवधे दुर्योधनविलापः)
ततो दुःशासन: क्रुद्धो वृष्णिवीराय गच्छते
tato duḥśāsanaḥ kruddho vṛṣṇivīrāya gacchate

Unchecked anger (krodha) propels one into reckless confrontation and deepens adharma; in the Mahābhārata’s war narrative, rage repeatedly becomes the immediate cause of violent escalation and moral blindness.
Sañjaya reports that Duḥśāsana, enraged, moves to engage a prominent warrior of the Vṛṣṇi clan—signaling a direct clash as the battle intensifies.
