Sañjaya said: Though mighty, Bhīmasena—pierced deeply by the finest arrows of Hārdikya—began to tremble while still seated within his chariot, like a mountain quivering during an earthquake.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the limits of physical might: even the strongest warrior can be shaken when struck by superior skill and force. It implicitly points to the precariousness of embodied power and the heavy cost of war, where prowess does not guarantee invulnerability.
Sañjaya describes Bhīmasena being grievously wounded by Hārdikya (Kṛtavarman) with excellent arrows. Though still seated in his chariot, Bhīma reels and trembles, compared to a mountain shaking during an earthquake.
