Yudhiṣṭhira said: “In such a situation and at such a critical time, you are being urged on by someone like me. Therefore, even if prompted by a person of my kind, in this hour of danger you should follow the course taken by a dear friend like Arjuna—just as men of your heroic stature are wont to do.”
युधिष्ठिर उवाच
In a crisis, one should not be swayed by the lesser authority or wavering counsel of even well-meaning people; instead, one should follow the proven dharmic course exemplified by a steadfast, capable, and trusted ally—here, Arjuna—acting as true heroes do.
Yudhiṣṭhira addresses another warrior amid the dangers of the battlefield, acknowledging that his own urging may be inadequate, and directs the listener to align their action with Arjuna’s established course, invoking heroic conduct and loyal friendship as the standard.
