Chapter 111
हैडिम्बो भरतश्रेष्ठ शरैरविव्याध सप्तभि: । भरतश्रेष्ठ) उस युद्धस्थलमें कुपित हुए राक्षस अलम्बुषको क्रोधमें भरे हुए निशाचर घटोत्कचने सात बाणोंसे घायल कर दिया
sañjaya uvāca | haiḍimbo bharataśreṣṭha śarair avivyādha saptabhiḥ |
Sañjaya said: O best of the Bharatas, the Haiḍimba (Ghaṭotkaca) pierced and wounded Alambuṣa on the battlefield with seven arrows.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how anger and retaliation drive escalation in war; even mighty warriors become instruments of destruction when wrath governs action, illustrating the ethical cost embedded in battlefield duty.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Ghaṭotkaca (called Haiḍimba) strikes Alambuṣa on the battlefield, piercing him with seven arrows.
