Educational Q&A

The verse presents kingship as a moral and relational trust rather than mere spoils: after the destruction of rival rulers, sovereignty is envisioned as being bestowed upon Kuntī, emphasizing duty to family elders and the restoration of rightful political order.

Vaiśampāyana describes a projected outcome of the war: a heroic, mighty-armed figure—praised as a ‘lion among men’—defeats kings and the Kauravas in battle and then grants the entire realm (the earth) to Kuntī.
