Sañjaya said: Once again, in the thick of battle, he poured down a fierce shower of arrows upon Kṛṣṇa and the Pāṇḍava (Arjuna). Seeing this renewed missile-storm, your soldiers were greatly delighted; they began to sound their instruments and raise lion-like shouts—revealing how, in war, morale often swells at displays of martial prowess, even as the ethical cost of violence continues to mount.

The verse highlights the psychological dimension of warfare: displays of force can exhilarate one’s own side and inflate confidence. Implicitly, it also points to the ethical tension of the epic—how collective joy can arise from acts of violence, even when dharma remains complex and contested.
Sañjaya reports that a warrior again unleashes a heavy barrage of arrows at Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna on the battlefield. The Kaurava troops, encouraged by this aggressive assault, celebrate with instruments and loud victory-cries.
