भीमकर्णसमागमः | Bhīma–Karṇa Encounter
दिष्ट्या त्विदानीं सम्प्राप्त एब ते बाणगोचरम् | यथायं जीवितं जह्यात् तथा कुरु धनंजय,धनंजय! सौभाग्यवश यह दुर्योधन इस समय तुम्हारे बाणोंके पथमें आ गया है। तुम ऐसा प्रयत्न करो, जिससे यह अपने प्राणोंको त्याग दे
diṣṭyā tvidānīṃ samprāpta eṣa te bāṇagocaram | yathāyaṃ jīvitaṃ jahyāt tathā kuru dhanañjaya dhanañjaya ||
Vāyu said: “By good fortune, at this very moment he has come within the range of your arrows. Act in such a way, O Dhanañjaya, that this man abandons his life.”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse stresses seizing a providential opening in a righteous battle: when an adversary comes within one’s lawful reach, a kṣatriya is urged to act decisively to end the threat, without hesitation born of fear or confusion.
In the midst of the Kurukṣetra war, Vāyudeva addresses Arjuna, pointing out that Duryodhana has come into the range of Arjuna’s arrows and urging Arjuna to strike in a way that would be fatal, treating the moment as a rare, fate-given opportunity.
