Educational Q&A

The verse highlights disciplined action in a grave moral arena: when a conflict is joined, outcomes hinge not only on valor but on organized effort and clear strategic focus. It also points to the ethical complexity of targeting a revered elder (Bhishma) as a necessary step within a contested sense of duty (dharma) in war.

Sanjaya reports to Dhritarashtra that the Pandava champions—Dhrishtadyumna, Shikhandi, and Satyaki—advance with their properly arranged forces directly against Bhishma, concentrating their attack on the Kaurava commander.
