अध्याय ८० — मध्यंदिन-रणवृत्तान्तः
Yudhiṣṭhira–Śrutāyu encounter; Cekitāna–Gautama clash; Abhimanyu pressure; Arjuna’s redeployment
ततो द्रोणो महाराज त्वरितो5भ्याययौ रणात् । तत्रापश्यन्महेष्वासो भारद्वाज: प्रतापवान्,महाराज! यह सुनते ही महाथनुर्थर प्रतापी भरद्वाजनन्दन द्रोणाचार्य तुरंत उस युद्धस्थलसे चलकर वहाँ आ पहुँचे। आकर उन महारथीने देखा कि धृष्टद्युम्म और भीमसेन उस महायुद्धमें विचर रहे हैं और आपके पुत्र मोहाविष्ट होकर पड़े हुए हैं
tato droṇo mahārāja tvarito 'bhyāyayau raṇāt | tatrāpaśyan maheṣvāso bhāradvājaḥ pratāpavān ||
Sañjaya said: Then Droṇa, O King, swiftly advanced from the battlefield. There the mighty archer, the valiant son of Bhāradvāja, beheld the scene—Dṛṣṭadyumna and Bhīmasena ranging through that great combat, while your sons lay fallen, overcome and bewildered.
