अध्याय ८० — मध्यंदिन-रणवृत्तान्तः

तत:ः शतसहस्राणि रथिनां सर्वश: प्रभो | उद्यतानि शरैस्तीव्रैस्तमेक॑ परिवव्रिरे,प्रभो! तदनन्तर एकमात्र भीमसेनको उनपर तीव्र बाणोंकी वर्षा करते हुए सैकड़ों- हजारों रथियोंने युद्धके लिये उद्यत होकर सब ओरसे घेर लिया
tataḥ śatasahasrāṇi rathināṃ sarvaśaḥ prabho | udyatāni śarais tīvrais tam ekaṃ parivavrire prabho ||
Sañjaya said: Then, O lord, hundreds and thousands of chariot-warriors, fully roused for battle, surrounded that lone Bhīmasena on every side, as he poured forth a fierce shower of arrows.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights steadfastness under pressure: even when many opponents unite against a single warrior, the ethical ideal of kṣatriya-dharma emphasizes courage, composure, and unwavering effort in one’s appointed duty.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that numerous chariot-fighters, ready for combat, encircle Bhīmasena from all directions while he attacks with a fierce barrage of arrows.
