अपरोक्षं च विद्यासु व्यायामे च कृतश्रमम् शस्त्रग्रहणविद्यासु सर्वासु परिनिष्ठितम्,हमारी इस सेनाको थधरनुर्वेदका प्रत्यक्ष अनुभव प्राप्त है। इसके सैनिकोंने व्यायाम (अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंके अभ्यास)-में भी अधिक परिश्रम किया है। ये शस्त्रग्रहणसे सम्बन्ध रखनेवाली सभी विद्याओंमें पारंगत हैं
aparokṣaṃ ca vidyāsu vyāyāme ca kṛtaśramam | śastragrahaṇavidyāsu sarvāsu pariniṣṭhitam ||
Sañjaya said: “Our army has direct, first-hand mastery of the sciences of warfare; it has also labored hard in disciplined training and exercise. In every branch of knowledge connected with the handling and use of weapons, these warriors are fully accomplished.”
संजय उवाच
The verse emphasizes that true capability—especially in matters of war—requires practical, first-hand mastery and sustained disciplined effort, not mere theoretical knowledge.
Sañjaya is reporting to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, praising the preparedness of the Kaurava forces by highlighting their rigorous training and comprehensive skill in weapon-handling.
