इति पार्थ प्रशस्याथ प्रगृह्मान्यन्महद् धनु: । मुमोच समरे वीर: शरान् पार्थरथं प्रति,इस प्रकार कुन्तीकुमार अर्जुनकी प्रशंसा करके फिर दूसरा विशाल धनुष हाथमें लेकर वीर भीष्मने युद्धस्थलमें उनके रथकी ओर बाण बरसाना आरम्भ किया इति श्रीमहाभारते भीष्मपर्वणि भीष्मवधपर्वणि तृतीयदिवसावहारे एकोनषछष्टितमो5 ध्याय:
sañjaya uvāca |
iti pārtha praśasyātha pragṛhyānyan mahad dhanuḥ |
mumoca samare vīraḥ śarān pārtharathaṃ prati ||
Sañjaya said: Having thus praised Pārtha (Arjuna), the heroic Bhīṣma then took up another great bow and, in the midst of battle, released volleys of arrows toward Arjuna’s chariot. The scene underscores a warrior’s code in which admiration for an opponent’s excellence can coexist with relentless martial duty: honor is paid in words, and the contest is pursued without hesitation in action.
