प्रशशाम रजो भौम॑ व्युक्षितं रणशोणितै: । दिशश्व विमला: सर्वा: सम्बभूवुर्जनेश्वर

praśaśāma rajo bhaumaṁ vyukṣitaṁ raṇaśoṇitaiḥ | diśaś ca vimalāḥ sarvāḥ sambabhūvur janeśvara ||

Sañjaya said: The dust raised from the earth subsided, having been drenched with the blood of battle; and all the directions became clear and spotless, O lord of men. The scene suggests a grim calm after violence—nature itself settling once the frenzy of combat has spent its force.
