Five Elements, Sensory Qualities, and a Cosmographic Island

उपास्यते तिग्मतेजा यत्र भूत: समन्तत: । नरनारायणो ब्रह्मा मनु: स्थाणुश्व पजचम:,उसी स्थानपर सब ओर सम्पूर्ण जगत्‌के लोग लोकस्रष्टा प्रचण्ड तेजस्वी सनातन भगवान्‌ भूतनाथकी उपासना करते हैं। नर, नारायण, ब्रह्मा, मनु और पाँचवें भगवान्‌ शिव वहाँ सदा स्थित रहते हैं

upāsyate tigmatejā yatra bhūtaḥ samantataḥ | nara-nārāyaṇo brahmā manuḥ sthāṇuś ca pañcamaḥ ||

Sañjaya said: In that sacred region, on every side, all beings worship the eternally radiant Lord, fierce in splendor, the sovereign of creatures. There abide Nara and Nārāyaṇa, Brahmā, Manu, and also Sthāṇu (Śiva), reckoned as the fifth—showing that the world’s highest refuge is devotion to the divine, beyond the turmoil of war.
