Bhīṣma’s Ascendancy and the Organization of the Krauñcāruṇa Formation

tam eva śaraṇaṁ gaccha sarvabhāvena bhārata | tatprasādāt parāṁ śāntiṁ sthānaṁ prāpsyasi śāśvatam ||
The Lord, O Arjuna, abides in the heart-region of all beings. By His māyā He causes all creatures—mounted upon the mechanism of the body—to move about, each according to their deeds. Therefore, to be released from the bondage of action and attain supreme peace, take refuge in Him alone with your whole being, O descendant of Bharata; by His grace you will attain the highest peace and the eternal abode.
All beings are inwardly governed by the Lord dwelling in the heart; embodied life moves under the interplay of māyā and one’s karma. Freedom from karmic bondage and attainment of supreme peace comes through wholehearted surrender to the Lord, relying on His grace rather than ego-driven control.
In the Bhīṣma Parva’s Bhagavadgītā setting, Kṛṣṇa instructs Arjuna on the battlefield. Here the discourse shifts from describing the Lord’s inner presence and governance of beings to the practical resolution: Arjuna should seek refuge in the Lord alone to transcend karmic entanglement and reach the eternal state.
