Nirmaryāda-saṃgrāma-varṇana — The Unbounded Clash and Bhīṣma’s Rallying Presence

āsurīṁ yonim āpannā mūḍhā janmani janmani | mām aprāpyaiva kaunteya tato yānty adhamāṁ gatim ||

Those deluded beings, having fallen into demonic wombs birth after birth, fail to reach Me; and then, O son of Kuntī, they descend to an even lower state of existence—into grievous hellish destinies. The ethical point is that persistent ignorance and willful rejection of the divine good harden into a downward moral trajectory, shaping one’s rebirth and suffering.
