Arjuna said: “Seeing this wondrous form of Yours that I have never beheld before, I am filled with joy; yet my mind is also shaken with fear. Therefore, show me again that very divine form of Yours—the familiar four-armed form. Be gracious, O Lord of the gods, O Abode of the universe.”

Educational Q&A

Even a sincere seeker can be overwhelmed by the majesty of the Absolute; devotion includes the humility to ask for a form and mode of revelation that the mind can bear, and it appeals to divine grace rather than personal entitlement.

After witnessing Krishna’s unprecedented cosmic manifestation, Arjuna experiences mixed emotions—rapture and terror—and asks Krishna to withdraw the overwhelming vision and show again the familiar, reassuring four-armed divine form.
