Sanjaya said: “But now, O best of the twice-born, understand also those who are foremost on our side. For your clear recognition, I shall name to you the commanders and leading captains of my army.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical and practical need for clear discernment in conflict: knowing who the principal leaders are is essential for understanding responsibility, strategy, and the unfolding consequences of war.
Sanjaya transitions from describing one side’s notable warriors to identifying the eminent leaders on ‘our’ side, announcing that he will list the commanders of his army for the listener’s clear recognition.
