Sañjaya said: “Therefore, warriors, do not flee. Having come upon Phālguna (Arjuna) in the thick of battle, I am resolved—today, in this fight, I shall engage the Pāṇḍava.”

The verse underscores the kṣatriya ethic of steadfastness: warriors are urged not to retreat out of fear, but to stand firm and meet a formidable opponent with resolve.
Sañjaya reports a battlefield exhortation: the speaker commands the troops not to flee and declares a determined intention to confront Phālguna (Arjuna), the Pāṇḍava champion, in combat that very day.
