भीष्मस्य जलप्रार्थना — अर्जुनस्य पर्जन्यास्त्रप्रयोगः — दुर्योधनं प्रति सन्ध्युपदेशः
Bhīṣma’s request for water; Arjuna’s Parjanya-astra; counsel to Duryodhana on reconciliation
शक्ति चिच्छेद सहसा भगदत्तेरितां रणे । तत्पश्चात् कंकपत्रयुक्त नौ बाणोंद्वारा शतघ्नीको छिन्न-भिन्न कर दिया। इसके बाद महारथी भीमसेनने मद्रराज शल्यके चलाये हुए बाणको काटकर रणक्षेत्रमें भगदत्तकी चलायी हुई शक्तिके भी सहसा टुकड़े-टुकड़े कर डाले

Sañjaya said: In the thick of battle, he swiftly cut down the spear-weapon (śakti) hurled by Bhagadatta. Then, with nine arrows feathered like kanka leaves, he shattered the sataghnī to pieces. After that, the great chariot-warrior Bhīmasena cut the arrow shot by Śalya, king of Madra, and likewise, in an instant, broke apart Bhagadatta’s śakti into fragments on the battlefield.
