Shloka 3

भीष्मस्य शरशय्या-प्राप्तिः

Bhīṣma’s Fall to the Arrow-Bed

तथैव राक्षसो राजन्‌ माधवं नवभि: शरै: | अर्दयामास राजेन्द्र संक्रुद्ध: शिनिपुड्रवम्‌,राजेन्द्र! तब उस राक्षसने भी अत्यन्त कुपित होकर मधुवंशी सात्यकिको नौ बाणोंसे पीड़ित किया

tathaiva rākṣaso rājan mādhavaṁ navabhiḥ śaraiḥ | ardayāmāsa rājendra saṁkruddhaḥ śinipuṅgavam ||

Sañjaya said: In the same manner, O King, that rākṣasa—enraged—assailed Sātyaki, the foremost of the Śini line, and pained him with nine arrows, O best of kings.
